Bio
Nicolas Serrano, CISA, CISM, is a graduate student in Indiana University-Bloomington with a Fulbright Scholarship. His technical background comes from Computer Engineering and, in addition, he holds two international certifications related to technology audit and information security management, where he was prized with the second best exam for Latin America. Since 2011 he has been working for the Central Bank of Uruguay in two main areas: firstly, leading different teams in the regulation and supervision of financial institutions and datacenters, focusing on IT governance, management and operations; cybersecurity and IT risk; and operative risk. Secondly, he has developed and implanted several cybersecurity policies and tools for this institution, following the best practices and guidelines of frameworks or standards like COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 27.001, TIA 942 and PCI DSS.
